It’s official: Disney has confirmed that its long‑awaited Star Wars theme park will open in 2019, alongside the release of Star Wars: Episode IX. Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger announced this during Walt Disney Company’s Q1 FY17 earnings call. Currently under construction at both Disneyland in Anaheim and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Florida, the 14‑acre Star Wars land will be an immersive experience — guests will be transported to a never‑before‑seen planet populated by characters from the franchise.
