The Iron Man actor is featured on the December cover of Architectural Digest, giving everyone a tour of his stunning windmill home. Robert Downey Jr. and wife Susan Downey converted a 19th century windmill into a stylish and charming Hamptons home.
“We wanted something we haven’t seen a million times,” the actor explains. “We didn’t set out to do something conspicuously wacky. We just enjoy a bit of whimsy and fun. And we definitely don’t like boring.”
The giant praying mantis in the forecourt might be the first clue that the Long Island home of @robertdowneyjr and producer-wife Susan Downey is not your conventional Hamptons hideaway. “We didn’t set out to do something conspicuously wacky,” the actor explains. “We just enjoy a bit of whimsy and fun.” Take a look around their magical compound via the #linkinbio and in the December issue, on newsstands this week.
