This striking custom ride is the work of Austria-based Vagabund Moto. Known as the “Vagabund V12,” this build takes a 1994 BMW R100RT and turns it into something that looks like it rolled out of a sci-fi film. The level of detail is truly impressive. The bike features a completely new custom tank and a surprising amount of 3D-printed components, including a headlight housing with LEDs, handlebar controls and fork covers with integrated LED turn signals. A custom leather seat keeps things grounded while a black-painted, glass fiber-reinforced plastic cover over the rear wheel rounds out the silhouette.
Performance and handling got attention too. A modified “HATTECH” Y-pipe and silencer free up the exhaust note and new Continental RoadAttack tires keep the power planted. Vagabund is not the only builder giving an older BMW boxer a very different personality. The R80 Skyway Boardracer took a 1979 R80 and styled it after 1970s and 1980s BMX bikes, proving there is more than one way to reinterpret a classic.
