Zenith has introduced a tribute to the Japanese manga and anime TV series Lupin the Third, the A384 Revival Lupin The Third Edition. “In the first season of animated Japanese series Lupin the Third, Mr. Daisuke Jigen, a debonair partner of the main protagonist Lupin, is depicted wearing a Zenith watch on two occasions.” The watch shown in the animated series didn’t actually exist – until now.
Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the El Primero calibre, Zenith recreated the uniquely shaped 37mm x 12.6mm stainless steel case using the blue prints and production plans of the original A384; It has a domed AR-coated sapphire crystal, a sapphire display back with a printed silhouette of Mr. Jigen. The watch features a matte-lacquered black dial with grey-colored counters and comes powered by the Swiss automatic Zenith in-house caliber El Primero 400 with 31 jewels, 36,000 vph and a power reserve of 50 hours. It comes on a black alligator leather strap with a steel pin buckle.
Limited to 50 pieces and exclusive to Japan, the A384 Revival Lupin the Third Edition is priced at ¥935,000 (approx. $8,542) and comes delivered in a special presentation box, where the outer box features a mosaic of images from the anime series.
