Casio G-Shock introduced a new limited edition version of their flagship MR-G timepiece that pays tributes to legendary action film star and martial artist, Bruce Lee, who would have turned 80 years old this year. Based on the MRG-G2000 of the flagship MR-G series, the watch features a black and yellow color scheme, recalling the tracksuit donned by Lee in Game of Death.
Housed in a titanium case, this limited edition boasts a sleek bezel that is coated with diamond-like carbon (DLC) to increase abrasion resistance.
The bezel and back cover are engraved with 12 Chinese characters that state the main tenets of Jeet Kune Do: “Using no way as way. Having no limitation as limitation.” At three o’clock on the face is Bruce Lee’s signature “龍,” which is the Chinese character for dragon. Priced at $4,000, the MRG-G2000BL-9A is limited to 300 pieces and will be available for purchase beginning in April at select Jewelers and the G-SHOCK Soho Store.
