Omega partnered with the celebrated Swiss yacht racing team Alinghi (the collaboration was announced in May of 2019) and unveiled a new watch, a new version of the Speedmaster Dark Side Of The Moon. Inspired by Alinghi’s unique boat design this model comes housed in a 44.25 mm case crafted from black zirconium oxide ceramic and displays some truly captivating details.
At 3 o’clock, a 4-minute or 5-minute tactical time display has been included in red, while at the 6 o’clock the traditional subdial design was replaced with a sandblasted and anodized aluminum disc, which features the Alinghi logo transferred in red.
“The new watch is about two great Swiss brands combining their passion for innovation and sailing,” said Raynald Aeschlimann, president and CEO of Omega. “To match Alinghi state-of-the-art boat creation, we’ve harnessed some truly impressive technology, along with the best materials and a very original design concept.”
Inside is the Omega Caliber 1865 manual winding movement beating at 21,000 VpH with 48 hours of power reserve. Priced at $10,800 USD the new Alinghi Limited Edition comes with a awesome black perforated leather strap with red contrast stitching.
