Return Of The Legend – Swiss luxury watchmaker Ulysse Nardin introduced at Watches & Wonders Geneva 2022 an ambitious upgrade in the “Freak watch saga”, the Ulysse Nardin Freak S – a watch that integrates double inclined oscillators. Inspired by the first Freak of 2001 the new space-inspired timepiece is housed in a 45mm case produced from 18k rose gold and black DLC-coated titanium with sapphire domed box with anti-reflective treatment on both sides that is water-resistant to 30 meters.
“The time is indicated by a carousel movement. It’s a unique concept, quite unlike anything you can find on the market. The product is so bold that no one dares to copy it. It is a celebration of new technologies,” says Jean-Christophe Sabatier, Product Director at Ulysse Nardin.
Inside the new mechanical marvel features the in-house caliber UN-251 automatic, each of the two balance systems operates at 2.5Hz (or 18,000 vibrations per hour) and the movement power reserve is of 72 hours.
The Freak S is completed by a black alligator with golden calfskin inlay or black alligator strap with a black DLC-titanium folding clasp.
Priced at CHF 130,000 (approx. $137,200 USD), the Ulysse Nardin Freak S ref. 2513-500LE-2A-BLACK-5N/1A is limited to just 75 pieces, with only 40 produced in 2022.
