Paying homage to the unique and puristic design of the all-black timepiece from 1972, Porsche Design is issuing a new limited production version of its historic Chronograph 1. Earlier this year, Porsche Design unveiled the Chronograph 1 1972 Limited Edition, and the entire production run of 500 watches sold out instantly. The updates to the Porsche Design Chronograph 1 All Black Numbered Edition are minimal, updated fonts, updated typography of the tachymeter scale and the use of the present-day Porsche Design logo.
Sporting its signature all-black finish the watch is housed in a 40.8mm titanium case with titanium bracelet and a quick change system. Inside is the proprietary chronograph movement WERK 01.140 with COSC certification, crafted at their facility in Solothurn, beating at 28,800 per hour (4 Hz) with 48 hours of power reserve. The movement can be seen through the sapphire crystal caseback.
Limited to 1,000 watches per year worldwide annually, Porsche Design Chronograph 1 All Black Numbered Edition is priced at $10,500 USD and can be pre-ordered now at Porsche Design, with deliveries starting November 2022.
