Formula One legend Lewis Hamilton has taken another big step into fashion, recently teamed up with contemporary artist Takashi Murakami to launch his +44 clothing brand. Inspired by the world of anime and manga the 6-piece capsule collection centers around the “Psychedelic Speed Demon” interpreted in Murakami’s style. It was only natural for Sir Lewis to start his very own clothing line, in the past the seven-time champion collaborated with fashion houses Tommy Hilfiger and Valentino.
“There is no one I consider more suited to help me achieve this than Murakami. He has consistently been at the forefront of street culture for decades, famous for his unique designs which are instantly identifiable as his.” Hamilton tells Highsnobiety.
Of the project, Murakami states, “We’ve worked together to make each piece reflective of our shared passion for the unique, psychedelic and a celebration of what makes us all different. Those who know Lewis can expect this collaboration to be a reflection of his unmatched talent”.
Priced between $60 to $200 USD, the limited-edition collection is available exclusively on Plus44.world and features short and long sleeve tees, a hoodie, and a jacket. Take a sneak peek at the release below.
