Bulgari’s Octo Finissimo, a legendary timepiece in the world of watchmaking, needs no introduction. Bulgari has revisited its thinnest-ever Ultra watch from two years ago, in response to Richard Mille‘s achievement of the title of the thinnest-ever mechanical watch. With a thickness of just 1.70mm, the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC watch reaffirms its position as the world’s thinnest mechanical watch.
At just 40mm diameter x 1.70mm in thickness, this timepiece not only sets a record for its slender profile but also achieves the remarkable feat of being the thinnest chronometer-certified watch ever produced, having earned COSC certification.
Developed in collaboration with movement specialist Concepto, this technical achievement pushes the boundaries of ultra-thin manufacturing. Within the BVL180 caliber, every moving part is arranged horizontally in a meticulously orchestrated dance, minimizing overlap and ensuring the watch’s incredibly thin profile. The Finissimo Ultra’s caseback doubles as the movement’s base plate, eliminating separate layers in the watch architecture to utilize the entire surface and organize all functions on a single horizontal plane.
The ensemble is perfected by an ultra-thin 1.50mm sandblasted titanium bracelet, seamlessly incorporating an integrated folding clasp. Priced at EUR 600,000 (approximately 529,000 USD), the Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra COSC is a limited edition comprising only 20 watches.
Bulgari is set to introduce an alternative variant of the 1.80mm Octo Finissimo Ultra, crafted from tungsten carbide and platinum, featuring hour and minute dials in a striking blue hue.
