To celebrate the Year of the Snake and the upcoming Lunar New Year, Swiss watchmaker Hublot has unveiled a limited-edition tonneau-shaped watch, reinterpreting the Spirit of the Big Bang with a striking snake-themed design. Since 2016, Hublot has marked each Chinese New Year with a meticulously crafted special edition of the Spirit of Big Bang. In Chinese culture, the snake symbolizes wisdom, charm, and transformation, and Hublot’s tribute to this zodiac animal highlights its commitment to merging cultural storytelling with fine watchmaking.
This special-edition Spirit of Big Bang Chronograph boasts a 42mm diameter and 14.1mm height case, showcasing a cohesive snake theme that extends across the dial, case, and strap. Crafted from micro-blasted and polished black ceramic, the watch is accentuated by an intricately detailed, gold-plated miniature snake coiled around the counters of its sapphire dial.
The Spirit of Big Bang Year of the Snake is powered by the automatic calibre HUB4700, featuring modern finishes, a skeletonized date disk, and visible through the sapphire dial and caseback, with a high-frequency 36,000 vibrations/hour and a 50-hour power reserve.
The practical one-click interchangeable strap allows for quick replacement and features a black ceramic and titanium folding buckle.
