A Legacy Reborn: The Brough Superior Story
Founded in 1919 by George Brough, Brough Superior earned the nickname “Rolls-Royce of motorcycles” for its pioneering design, unmatched quality, and refined aesthetics. After halting production in 1940 during World War II, the brand was reborn in 2013 by Thierry Henriette and Albert Castaigne, who revived its legacy with a French-based workshop dedicated to handcrafted excellence. This isn’t Brough Superior’s first foray into ultra-exclusive collaborations; the brand previously partnered with another luxury icon to create the Aston Martin AMB 001 superbike, setting the stage for ambitious projects like the RMB01.
A Horological Masterpiece on Two Wheels
Inspired by the early 20th-century Board Trackers — the pioneers of motorcycle racing — the RMB 01 pays homage to machines built purely for speed and agility. These early racers featured stripped-down designs, focused entirely on performance and weight reduction.
The RMB 01 translates this heritage into a modern design language: an elongated fuel tank, minimalist saddle, and exposed engine are paired with taut, elliptical lines and sculpted forms. The result is a machine that’s both technically advanced and visually dynamic, exuding the presence of a predator in motion.
“Born from the encounter of two mechanical enthusiasts, this machine, both a leaping jaguar and a sprinter, full of power and femininity, will remain an unforgettable experience for the team,” said in a statement Brough Superior president Thierry Henriette .
Engineering the Sculpted Powertrain
At the heart of the machine lies a sculpted 997cc twin-cylinder engine, forged from solid 5000-series aluminum alloy with elevated magnesium content for superior strength-to-weight ratio. Delivering a powerful 130 hp, its casings are precision-engineered via 5-axis CNC machining, with internal contours and recesses carefully optimized to reduce 160 kg of raw stock to only 23 kg of high-performance, lightweight components.
Three Exclusive Editions for Collectors
Hand-assembled in France and bench-tested for performance, the motorcycle comes in three versions: Pearl of Speed (pearlescent white with red), Selene (matte grey with orange), and Nocturnal Sapphire (midnight blue with blue accents).
Pearl of Speed
Featuring a matte pearl-white finish on the body panels and front mudguard, the bike exudes refined purity. Its matte forged carbon aerodynamic kit adds a sleek, race-inspired edge, enhanced by glossy graphics for vivid contrast. The front spoiler and side aero parts are finished in frosted anthracite grey with frosted black accents, while red touches on key components amplify the sporty character.
Selene
Finished in matte anthracite grey, the bodywork perfectly complements the forged carbon exoskeleton frame, crafting a powerful and dynamic profile. The matte forged carbon aero kit and frosted anthracite grey front spoiler and side aero elements enhance the sculptural frame’s ultra-modern, lightweight design optimized for performance. Bright orange details on key components provide a bold yet sophisticated accent.
Nocturnal Sapphire
Finished in glossy nocturnal sapphire blue, the body panels and front mudguard shimmer under light, highlighting the bike’s smooth, sculptural curves. The frosted anthracite grey aerodynamic kit introduces an assertive touch, complemented by soft light grey details for balanced refinement. Blue highlights on key components lend a cohesive and elegant finish.
