A Heuer “Monaco” ref. 1133B, worn by Steve McQueen in the film Le Mans, fetched $799,500 at a film memorabilia auction. The watch features a retro 1960s-style matte blue dial and a black vented leather strap. Launched in 1969, the TAG Heuer Monaco was the first automatic square-cased chronograph and became famous after McQueen wore it in the 1971 film Le Mans. The buyer(s) were not identified.
