Here’s a first look at the new Ralph Lauren Flying Tourbillon, a new timepiece that it will debut at SIHH 2014. Paying homage to the dashboard of Ralph Lauren’s 1938 Type 57SC Bugatti Atlantic Coupe, the watch features a flying tourbillon that is revealed through an aperture at 6 o’clock. Housed within a 45mm shot-blasted black stainless steel case, inside is the Swiss automatic movement Richemont for Ralph Lauren caliber RL167 with 28 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 40 hours. The mechanism is decorated with the Côtes de Genève pattern; the black dial features elm burlwood at the outer edge of the dial with luminescent sword-shaped hands. The novelty comes on a black alligator strap with a black steel folding clasp.
