Ahead of its official debut at Baselworld 2014, Zenith offers an exclusive preview of the extraordinary Pilot Type 20 Grand Feu. A true feat of engineering, this timepiece features a massive 60mm case precision-carved from a single block of sapphire—marking Zenith’s first foray into sapphire cases and the largest ever produced in watchmaking history. The transparent architecture is elegantly accented by 18kt white gold lugs, a matching bezel, and an oversized crown.
At its heart beats the Swiss-made, in-house El Primero 5011K manual-wind caliber, boasting 19 jewels, a frequency of 18,000 vph, and a 48-hour power reserve. The aesthetic is defined by a stunning Grand Feu enamel dial paired with classic blued hands, all secured by a black leather strap and an 18kt white gold ardillon buckle. Due to its complexity and rarity, the Pilot Type 20 Grand Feu is limited to just 10 pieces worldwide.
