French designer Hedi Slimane has a habit of digging through the Saint Laurent archive, and his latest find is a good one. The new luggage line brings back the YSL monogram that Cassandre designed in 1961, reworked as an all-over print.
The range covers about 30 pieces in leather and canvas, from bags to full-size travel pieces. Everything is made in Italy, and the collection is live now on ysl.com.
If the monogram looks familiar, that is the point. Sixty years on, the Cassandre logo still does the heavy lifting.
