Prada just put out a video showing how their Driving Shoe gets made, and it is worth a few minutes of your time. The important parts are all done by hand. Each pair is stitched from Saffiano leather, calf suede, fine ostrich or crocodile skin, depending on the version.
What got me was the beginning. The shoe starts as a blank sheet of paper, and somewhere between that page and the last stitch it becomes something people happily pay serious money for. Watch it below.
