Pre-Baselworld 2015 – Italian luxury watch manufacturer U-Boat will unveil five “ultra-rare” limited edition timepieces at Baselworld 2015, conceived by renowned designer Italo Fontana and based on U-Boat’s acclaimed watch designs including the Flightdeck and the Chimera. One of these exclusive five is the Phoenix, developed on the brand’s prestigious Classico design.
The Classico Phoenix is housed in a 48 mm sterling silver case with sapphire crystal and water resistance to 50 meters. The case features a distinctive martellée finish and has been carefully drilled to create intricate cracks, which are meticulously filled with 180 black diamonds by skilled Italian craftsmen.
Inside beats the Swiss automatic U-Boat caliber 77 movement (base ETA Valjoux) featuring 25 jewels, beating at 28,800 vph with a 42-hour power reserve. The dial showcases a mother-of-pearl finish complemented by luminescent blackened hands and indices. The timepiece is completed with a hand-finished vintage calf brown leather strap with silver accents and matching buckle.
This ultra-limited edition chronograph represents the pinnacle of Italian watchmaking craftsmanship and Swiss mechanical precision. Pricing to be announced (TBA).

The Phoenix arrived alongside another ambitious U-Boat release that same month — the Capsule, built around a patented pressure-resistant crystal-locking system inspired by deep-sea exploration.
