Panerai Celebrates the Year of the Rat with the Luminor Sealand

Panerai Luminor Sealand Year of the Rat
Continuing a cherished multi-year tradition, luxury watchmaker Panerai has unveiled its latest Chinese Zodiac timepiece to celebrate the Year of the Rat. Beginning January 25, 2020, the Year of the Rat marks the start of the Chinese Zodiac cycle and is associated with intelligence, adaptability, and shrewdness.

The centerpiece of this special edition is the case back, which features a meticulously detailed engraving of the Rat. This artwork was crafted by the Italian Masters Engravers using the ancient “Sparsello” technique, blending traditional artistry with modern luxury.

Inside is the automatic P.9010 calibre, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz) with three days of power reserve; entirely developed and created in the Panerai Manufacture in Neuchâtel.

Limited to 88 units, Panerai Luminor Sealand Year of the Rat – 44 mm (PAM00863) is finished with a gold matt calf strap with beige stitching.

The Rat isn’t the first zodiac sign Panerai has celebrated — back in 2014, the brand marked the Year of the Horse with a special edition Luminor Sealand, continuing a tradition of honoring the Chinese zodiac.
