Jaguar Celebrates 60 Years of E-Type With Anniversary Tribute Edition

Next year Jaguar will celebrate its 60th anniversary of its iconic E-Type sports car, and to commemorate the achievement is building six matched pairs of 3.8-liter cars. Built at Jaguar Classic Works in Warwickshire, the Exclusive E-Type 60 Edition will be based on a ground-up restoration of an existing 1960s 3.8-liter E-Type painted in Flat Out Grey or Drop Everything Green, to commemorate the early cars that appeared at Geneva, Switzerland in March 1961. All 12 cars will carry some 60th-anniversary design details.

E-type 60 Collection
“The Jaguar E-type is a genuine icon, as sensational today as the moment it was unveiled in 1961. It is a testament to the E-type’s advanced design and engineering that it can still be enjoyed and admired as passionately almost 60 years on,” said Dan Pink, Director of Jaguar Classic. “The E-type 60 Collection is a lasting tribute for E-type admirers, honoring the car’s legacy and the achievements of the team that created it – many of whom have descendants working for Jaguar Classic today, expertly restoring, maintaining and future-proofing enjoyment for generations to come.”

Jaguar has already acquired the 12 donor vehicles and is currently taking orders for the E-Type 60 Collection. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but if you have to ask then you probably can’t afford it. It is estimated that the duo might cost around £650,000 (approx. $850,000USD).
