Hublot x Samuel Ross Big Bang Tourbillon Is A Piece of Art

Hublot Big Bang Tourbillon Samuel RossSwiss brand Hublot unveiled a refreshing take on its Big Bang Tourbillon 45mm in collaboration with brand ambassador and A-Cold-Wall founder Samuel Ross. The wearable sculpture features a satin-finish,  polished titanium case, paired with a rubber strap in Ross’ signature orange shade, making it a true collector’s piece. The distinct honeycomb theme can be seen in the titanium mesh used on the case, sapphire dial, caseback, and strap.

“My sculpture tells the story of Hublot using simple, clean lines, with a monochrome palette of hues, a touch of vivid color, and a play on oversized dimensions,” Ross said of the collab. “Hublot symbolizes daring innovation, the fusion of time between tradition and innovation, and the endless capacity to invent and reinvent materials. Our collaboration reflects how we create and make decisions: quickly, efficiently and precisely.” Inside is the remarkable HUB6035 calibre, beating at 3 Hz with a 72-hour power reserve, and a tourbillon at 6 o’clock.

Back in 2019 the British designer won the prestigious Hublot Design Prize, then, only a year later, he was announced as an official brand ambassador. The occasion was marked by the unveiling of REFORM, a sculpture designed to encapsulate 40 years of Hublot.

“The youngest artist with whom we have ever worked, Samuel Ross’s 360-degree is unique and intelligent, incorporating the watch, packaging, communication and visual identity,” said Hublot CEO, Ricardo Guadalupe. “What is so special about this collaboration is the direct interaction between design and object, ideas and form. Samuel has pushed our team to work with new and innovative materials and shapes. It’s a really dynamic and fulfilling partnership.”

Limited to just 50 examples, the Hublot Big Bang Toubillon Samuel Ross is priced at $116,000 and available to purchase now on Hublot’s website and at select retailers.
