Housed in a 40mm steel case with a sapphire crystal, the bezel is fitted with a hardened mineral glass insert, while inside is the COSC-certified STP 3-13 movement operating at a frequency of 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz) and a power reserve of just about 44 hours. Inspired by Brabus’s Shadow Black Ops series of dayboats, the watch comes housed in a 47 mm case made from Panerai’s Carbotech composite material, while Inside is the automatic mechanical P.4001/S caliber with 31 jewels, beating at 28,800 alternations/hour and three-day of power reserve. Limited to just 100 examples the Panerai Submersible S Brabus Black Ops Edition is priced at $46,200.

Turning trash into treasure. Last year Detroit-based watchmaker celebrated World Ocean Day by introducing the Sea Creatures Detrola, a sport watch inspired by critters of the deep sea. For this watch Shinola partnered up with #tide, a company that is reclaiming plastics out of the sea and recycling them into materials for other uses. Housed in a 40mm case made from ocean-bound plastic with a stainless steel core and powered by a high-accuracy quartz movement, which is hand-assembled in Detroit with Swiss and other imported parts. Water-resistant up to 10 ATM, it’s the ideal companion for adventures.

This year Rolex updated the emblematic sailing timepiece Yacht-Master 42 with a bold new option in 18 ct yellow gold.
