Jaguar just made it official. The Project 7 speedster is really happening, 250 units and not one more, with the world premiere set for the Goodwood Festival of Speed on 26 June. So what makes it special? One number pretty much covers it. 575 hp from that glorious 5.0-litre supercharged V8. That makes the F-TYPE Project 7 the fastest and most powerful production Jaguar ever built, and the 0 to 100 km/h sprint of 3.9 seconds is enough to edge out the XKR-S GT and its 550PS at the top of the family tree.
Five colours to pick from. Ultra Blue, Caldera Red and British Racing Green get white decals, while Ultimate Black and Glacier White come with grey ones. Production starts in spring 2015. With only 250 of these things ever seeing daylight, I would not wait around if I were you.
