Breitling’s Avenger Blackbird 44 is a rugged new watch that’s ready for field duty. The light and sturdy titanium case measures 44mm and features a highly resistant black carbon-based treatment. The timepiece is powered by a Swiss automatic Breitling caliber 17 (base ETA) with 25 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 42 hours. It is COSC-certified as a chronometer.
The dial is Volcano black with vintage lume hands and indices and a red border framing the date window, and it is distinguished by its excellent readability. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 200 meters. The timepiece is completed by a black anthracite military high-tech fabric strap with a black carbon-based coated titanium buckle.
The Blackbird 44 is not the first bird of prey in the Avenger line. Breitling introduced the original Avenger Blackbird back in 2014, and this new 44mm version shrinks the formula down for wrists that prefer a slightly smaller footprint.
