Luxury watchmaker RJ-Romain Jerome unveiled in collaboration with The Tetris Company, a classic video game-inspired watch, the Tetris-DNA. The timepiece features a 46mm-wide PVD-coated black titanium case with special dial, black brushed Matrix with aluminum “Clou de Paris” Tetriminos, produced from colored anodized aluminum. Inside is the mechanical self-winding movement RJ001-A with 23 jewels, beating at 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 42 hours. Another neat element is the custom made Tetris medallion on the caseback. Attached to the case is a black rubber strap.
“It made sense for me to collaborate with Tetris as it’s one of the greatest games of all time,” said Manuel Emch, CEO of RJ Watches. “I remember playing on my Game Boy first generation for hours as my addiction grew stronger with time. It’s an honour for me to immortalize this game in an RJ-Romain Jerome watch and share my passion with our collectors and fans.”
Priced at 15,555 Swiss Francs ( $18,950USD ) the Tetris-DNA comes in a limited edition of 84 pieces, based on the year Tetris was created : 1984.
