Land Rover teamed up with Swiss watchmaker Zenith, and officially announced a new relationship with the debut of the Zenith El Primero Range Rover Special. Housed in a 42mm case made from ceramised aluminium finished in a dark, highly scratch-resistant ceramic coating, the timepiece is powered by Zenith El Primero caliber 400B automatic movement, beating at 5Hz (36,000 bph) with a 50-hour power reserve.
“The Zenith El Primero is one of the most distinctive watch designs ever produced, in my view. Therefore it has been imperative to honour and respect this iconic design. It had to remain unmistakably an El Primero, but allude to Range Rover DNA,” says Gerry McGov-ern, Land Rover Chief Design Officer.
Priced at $7,700USD the Zenith El Primero Range Rover will be supplied on a black rubber strap with a choice of two straps made of a combination of perforated calfskin (either ivory or blue).
